The Irish Medtech Skillnet launched 'Talent to Thrive: The Future Skills Report for Ireland's Medtech Sector, 2024-2028' on Thursday 27 June 2024 in Thomond Park, Limerick.

With special guest speakers including Patrick O'Donovan, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Liam Sheedy (renowned sporting manager and high-performance consultant) in conversation with Caroline Currid (leading Performance Psychologist), this event was both insightful and inspiring.

The report itself provides a skills roadmap, valuable insights and actionable strategies for stakeholders across the industry. On the day expert industry speakers discussed the report and presented their views of its findings.

Talent to Thrive: The Future Skills Report for Ireland's Medtech Sector, 2024 - 2028

Developed in collaboration with KPMG and Irish Medtech, this comprehensive report aims to map the future skills needs of the Irish medtech sector across five strategic skills pillars including Manufacturing, Research, Development and Innovation, Sustainability, Regulatory Affairs and Human Resources.

Based on extensive industry consultation which included a surveyed sample of >1% of the Irish medtech sector in Ireland along with interviews and focus group data from over 80 Irish industry stakeholders, this report delves deep into the skills gaps and analyses the opportunities within the medtech sector to deliver critical insights that will help shape the future of education and workforce development for Medtech companies and the suppliers and service providers who support them.

The report benchmarks Ireland's medtech sector against key international medtech hubs including Singapore and Minnesota, and analyses peer sectors including BioPharma, FoodTech and Technology to identify potential learnings and opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
